A driver with a check engine light is not browsing. They are triaging. Your homepage gets about three seconds to answer three questions before they hit the back button and try the next shop.
1. Are you open?
Hours, today, in text — not in an image, not only in Google. Holiday closures included. Wrong hours are worse than no hours: they produce a wasted drive and a bad review.
2. Do you work on my car?
Make and model specialization is how people search: “BMW mechanic near me,” “diesel shop,” “hybrid battery.” If you specialize, that belongs on its own page, not in a paragraph on the About page.
3. How soon can you take it?
A short appointment form — vehicle, symptom, best day — that reaches the shop as a text beats a phone number alone, because half your customers would rather not call from an open-plan office.
Then earn the trust
- ASE certifications, stated where people look for them.
- Your warranty, in numbers: how long, how many miles.
- Why an independent shop beats the dealer for this work.
- Photos of the actual bay and the actual people.
None of this requires a redesign to start. It requires someone who can change the site the same week you think of it.
